Discover your path to freedom

“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us...”

— Hebrews 12:1

Freedom from…
Freedom to…

We all long for freedom - freedom from the things that hinder us from living life to the fullest: Anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, unwanted thoughts and behaviors, unhealthy relational patterns… But freedom from opens the possibility for something new - freedom to be who God created us to be, freedom to pursue our life’s mission, freedom to love others in healthy ways. Liberty Christian Counseling is here to help you find your freedom from, and freedom to.

Individual, Couple, & Group Counseling

I work with individuals, couples, and groups whose lives have been disrupted by anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, traumatic events, substance abuse, pornography and sexual addiction. My goal is to accept clients unconditionally, where they are, as they are. I provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere in which my clients can explore, process and find freedom from the issues that hinder them from fulfilling their God-given roles.

I empower my clients by helping them understand the issues they face and equip them with practical tools and strategies they can apply immediately. Once the most pressing needs are addressed, we work together to identify and process underlying issues (e.g., childhood trauma, unresolved conflicts, resentments, ineffective coping skills, attachment and family of origin wounds).

Education and Training

I received my Bachelors of Arts in ministry and counseling from East Texas Baptist University and Master of Arts in professional counseling from Liberty University. In addition I have received advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR, the gold standard in trauma treatment), the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model for partners of sex addicts (MPTP by APSATS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), the Gottman Method, Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts (SYMBIS), and Healing Grief and Loss.

I am a strong proponent of recovery and support groups and have been active in the recovery community for the past 8 years. Memberships: American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP).
